The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want (lack). Psalm 23:1
David is declaring his trust and hope in God for all that he needs. When we have wants/desires and look outside of God, we get into trouble. Psalm 37:4 says, delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. It is of chief importance as followers of Christ to be satisfied in God. Our hearts will be drawn to worship all manner of things until we come to the Lord as our shepherd and find our satisfaction in him.
