Gospel sightings

One of my favorite lenses when reading scripture is to be on the look-out for the gospel. No one, apart from Jesus, does a better job than the Apostle Paul at giving us the gospel in such a myriad of ways.

Romans 4:4, 5 says, "Now to the one who works, his wages are not counted as a gift but as his due. And to the one who does not work but trusts him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness." (ESV)

Now, that's the gospel!

  1. You were interacting with Romans at four in the morning? Yeow! That's impressive. So... we're not due anything, because our work, our righteousness is tainted. But our trust, our faith, brings about the gift that we didn't work for. That's un-American, man. Good post. Keep looking...
