More Teaching Opportunities in Burma

I had the privilege of having lunch today with Pastor Philip from St. Matthews Baptist church here in Pyin Oo Lwin and then teaching his church staff for an hour on Colossians 3:16 and its principles for worship.

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God." (Col 3:16)

1.  Our songs should be biblical - "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly..."

2.  One God given purpose for music is didactic - "teaching and admonishing one another..." 

3.  There are a variety of song types.  "Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs..."

4.  The way we sing our songs and the condition of our hearts is important.  "with thankfulness in your hearts to God."
