God Is Working in S.E. Asia

I just met a man from the Lisu people group whose name is Stephen.  They are politically grouped in with the Kachin.  He told me the story of how when he was a Buddhist, his father had a vision.  The Lord showed his father two roads - a narrow one leading to paradise and a broad road leading to darkness.  The Lord spoke to him and said, "In order to get on the narrow road...you must repent."  The word for repentance in Lisu literally means to take out your heart (as in heart surgery).  His father was devastated because he didn't know how he would repent without losing his heart and dying.  Then the Lord told him to find Jesus...Jesus would help him get a new heart.  The man began asking all those around him where he could find Jesus.  Finally, in the streets, there was a "foreigner", a missionary.  The man went up to him and asked him who he was.  The foreigner said, "I am a missionary...I have come to tell people about Jesus."  The man's father wanted to repent and believe in Jesus right there.

Stephen said he was converted to Christianity - leaving Buddhism because of the testimony of his father.  Praise God!  Please continue to pray for the indigenous Christian leaders here in Burma.  Pray that God would continue to fill them with His Spirit.  That in spite of tremendous persecution by the Burmese military, they will continue to be witnesses for Christ.
