Learning to be Content
I have spent so much
time trying to ‘position’ myself in a vocation/ministry to be effective for God. I have been restless and discontent about my
present and my future. The reality is
that God is not limited by my choices or my present situation. Paul’s admonition to do whatever we do for
God’s glory (1 Cor 10:31) and a similar thought to being living sacrifices for
God (Rom 12:1), means that I don’t have to be anxious about the future. Oswald Chambers used to say, “be faithful and
do the next thing.” In other words, do
what God has brought for you to do right now, fully be where he has brought you
until he directs you otherwise. Praise
God! That is so liberating! There is so much freedom in Christ
Jesus!
