I catch myself doing that more often than not; Wanting a particular blessing or Godly attribute without the context that has forged it. Paul says in Romans 8:17, that we are children and heirs of God, "fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him." (italics mine)
O Lord help me to embrace suffering and trials as your appointed means of growing my faith, producing steadfastness so that I may be fully complete, lacking nothing.
This reminds me of Paul in 2 Corinthians when he says that our troubles and trials are actually achieving something for us. That is otherworldly. How can trouble achieve anything? Good point, bro. The trial is the means to the end, which is faith. And what the troubles and trials can achieve for us if we stay close to the King... an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison. May we consider it pure joy, my brother. Thanks for that devotion insight. I need to hear that.
